Solberg keen to start getting results

Petter Solberg has said that he is missing the feeling of competing for podium finishes in WRC events

The 2003 champion has endured a tough time with Subaru during the past year, but he is hoping that this weekend's Rally Sardinia will mark a change in fortunes.

While this year's new Subaru Impreza has shown good pace in its early events, the car has been unable to remain at the sharp end throughout an entire rally so far.

"I'm starting to miss the feeling of being on the podium at the end of a rally," said Solberg, "but there are some details that still have to come together.

"I really hope we can start to push for a win again in Sardinia. It is a rally we have won before, and we are on the right track."

The team had a test in the Italian region at the end of last week, and Solberg believes that based on previous form they should be able to put in a strong showing this weekend.

"We always have a good feeling on these stages, so maybe this could be a good rally for us," he added. "I'm looking forward to making a strong challenge."
