Parnassos G Service: Notes and quotes
Colin McRae (Ford) - rally leader: "It's getting a wee bit uncomfortable now, but there's nothing more we can do about it. Maybe those stages were a bit more slippery than we thought. It'd be nice if we could take some time back on the next three stages."
(Ford) - second, +24.2s: The Spaniard was busy discussing tyre choice with his engineer.
(Subaru) - third, +22.7s: "For running as the car, Colin setting some very impressive times. He's clearly driving very well. It's all closing up and apart from Francois, there is nobody else on this pace outside the top three."
(Subaru) - fourth, +1m04.4s: The Norwegian is happy, but suffered a puncture on SS9 and had to drive eight kilometres on it, which bent the steering.
(Peugeot) - fifth, +1m10.8s: Just couldn't understand why he lost so much time on SS10 when it was such a short stage.
(Mitsubishi) - seventh, +2m18.5s: Bent the radiator back onto the turbocharger of his Carisma GT after landing heavily on a rock after a heavy jump. Had to turn off his ventilator and therefore took it slightly easier.
(Ford) - 10th, +2m42.9s: Had no power steering on SS11 which, with his bad wrist, is the worst mechanical failure the Frenchman could have hoped for.
