Ford unveil new livery for 2008

The Ford World Rally Team have unveiled their new colour scheme for the 2008 season at this year's Autosport International show

The reigning WRC manufacturers' champions are preparing for a new era this year following Marcus Gronholm's retirement from the sport, but team boss Malcolm Wilson is confident that Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala will form a strong line-up.

"It's very sad that Marcus has retired, he's really been the kingpin of our team for the last couple of years," said Wilson. "But I'm very confident.

"We've seen the way that Mikko's developed, he's ready now to step up to the role of taking over from Marcus, and Jari-Matti is young but he has plenty of experience now."

Ford will start the season with the 2007-spec car that took Hirvonen to victory in Rally GB in December, and Wilson is optimistic that the team can carry their momentum into this season.

"It's not going to be as easy as last year, but we've got a great car," he added. "We're going to start this season where we ended last year, so we feel very confident."
