Hour 13: Unlucky number for Ferrari
The second-placed #80 Ferrari 550 Maranello in the GTS category is out of the race. Anthony Davidson, who was a lap behind his sister car, crashed heavily at Mulsanne Corner.
The British driver is shocked and bruised and currently receiving attention in the medical centre. His condition is not believed to be serious, and no details of the accident are yet known.
This leaves the Peter Kox/Tomas Enge/Jamie Davies around four laps in front of the #53 Corvette. Enge was leading the race comfortably last year before his 550 Maranello expired, also in the 13th hour.
There have been no major changes at the front, excepting that the #5 Audi has shaken off the challenge of the Racing for Holland Dome, now driver by John Bosch. The Judd-engined car is now two laps back from the Audi. The Panoz now also seems more secure in 6th place although the Courage remains on the same lap.
In the bizarre LMP675 category, the Reynard-Lehmann that won last year is now about just about 30 laps in front of the competition that is either fast but unreliable or desperately slow but steady.
