Creation Continues Comeback

This year's Le Mans 24 Hours is marking itself out as a race of comeback drives, and none has been more dramatic than the one produced thus far by Creation Autosportif

Having lost time while a linkage in the paddleshift was changed and then more than 25 minutes while a new water pump was fitted, the number 7 DBA4 dropped to 38th. From there the charge began, with Nicolas Minassian almost beside himself with delight at 02:00 after emerging from a triple stint, having lapped in 3m39.073s, just a fraction of a second slower than the qualifying lap that placed the car sixth on the grid.

"The car is perfect, I love it!" he bubbled. "It's very well balanced and I have to say that Michelin have come up with a fantastic hard compound tyre. We could have done a quadruple stint on it if we wanted to. It allows you to be very consistent in the car. I'm feeling very good. I was pushing very hard but still within the margin you need to consider at Le Mans."
