Brabham wants to stay with Aston

David Brabham is hoping to find out within the next few weeks whether or not he will be asked back to race for Aston Martin in sportscars

The Australian played a key role in Aston Martin's return to endurance racing this year, and he is keeping his fingers crossed that he will get another opportunity with the Prodrive-run operation.

"I certainly hope so," he said on the Central Stage at the Autosport International Show. "Both Darren [Turner] and I were part of the development of the car, and they (Aston Martin) haven't made their minds up yet.

"Hopefully in the next week or two we will get an answer. They have got to put everything in place and then figure out what their programmes are. Drivers are the last thing they need to sort out, and I am lucky that I do have another option, but I am waiting to see."

Brabham described the experience of racing for Aston Martin as 'amazing', even though they failed in their aim of winning their class at Le Mans.

"The DBR9 is one of the prettiest cars I have driven, so anyone looking at it has to think something similar. To be a part of the experience was pretty amazing."
