Audi confirm 2006 line-up
Audi have confirmed their six-driver line-up to race at this year's Le Mans 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours
Frank Biela, Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish, Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner will all drive the new diesel-powered R10 for the car's first two races.
The German manufacturer has yet to reveal which three drivers will drive which of their two cars.
None of the six drivers come as a surprise. All bar Capello drove the final Le Mans 24 Hours with Champion Racing's R8 last year, and all have tested the car.
All six are former Le Mans 24 Hours and Sebring 12 Hours winners, with Kristensen holding the all-time record of seven Le Mans victories.
The car has already proved it will be fighting for victory at next month's Sebring event, after stunning test times set last month.
Capello recorded a lap 0.7 seconds inside the track's qualifying record in the final day of American Le Mans Series testing at the Florida road course.
"The R10 project is the greatest challenge ever to face Audi Sport," explains Head of Audi Motorsport Dr Wolfgang Ullrich.
"It goes without saying that we needed drivers with experience in depth for this project, who also play an important roll during the development.
"I'm delighted that we have managed to form such a strong driving squad for Le Mans and for the test race at Sebring."
The two Audi R10 prototypes will be entered in Sebring and Le Mans by Reinhold Joest's team, which previously supported the Audi Sport Development Team during the successful R8 project years.
