Paul Ricard WEC test: Porsche goes quickest in second session
Porsche jumped to the top of the times in the second session of the official World Endurance Championship test at Paul Ricard
The #20 Porsche 919 Hybrid set the fastest two times of the session, a 1m41.778s set by Timo Bernhard and a 1m41.929s recorded by team-mate Mark Webber.
The #14 Porsche was second fastest in the hands of Romain Dumas with a best time of 1m42.126 until the dying minutes of the session when Andre Lotterer piped the car to second on the timesheets with a 1m42.073s.
The best Toyota TS040 HYBRID, the #7 car running in high-downforce configuration, was a further two tenths behind with Stephane Sarrazin at the wheel.
The Millennium/Delta-ADR team was again fastest in LMP2, this time with the #23 ORECA-Nissan 03 driven by Shinji Nakano.
The Japanese driver's time of 1m48.970s put him just over a tenth clear of Olivier Pla in the G-Drive/OAK Racing Morgan-Nissan LMP2.
Porsche maintained its supremacy in GTE Pro with Frederick Makowiecki pipping new Ferrari driver James Calado in the AF Corse factory entry by a tenth.
AF Corse-run 8Star Ferrari team was again fastest in GTE Am, with Paolo Ruberti setting a time within three tenths of Calado.
