Whincup wins again in race two

Whincup led from start-to-finish apart from a few laps during the compulsory pitstop phase, taking the win ahead of Russell Ingall who vaulted into second at the start and managed to hold off Craig Lowndes throughout the second half of the race.

Lowndes was busy in the closing laps holding off Ford Performance Racing's Mark Winterbottom, who recovered from starting 21st after his incident in race one by making up ground at the start, thirteenth by lap three.

He then ran long before making his pitstop, which he made when the safety car came out for Andrew Thompson's stricken car. Restarting eighth, he made his way through the cars in front to give Lowndes something to worry about at the end, with teammate Steven Richards five seconds further back in fifth.

Another driver to drive his way through the field was Todd Kelly, finishing sixth from 20th on the grid after his controversial penalty for passing the safety car in race one.

James Courtney, Steven Johnson, Paul Morris and Will Davison, who started 26th and also charged his way through the field, completed the top ten.

Just outside the top ten in eleventh position was Holden Racing Team's Garth Tander, who lost ground at the start but slowly made up ground before the safety car. Restarting tenth, he looked well placed to move up the order but struggled for pace, slipping as low as twelfth before Lee Holdsworth's struggle for grip allowed him to move up one place.
