Todd Kelly takes Albert Park pole
Holden Racing Team's Todd Kelly continued the team's strong form in qualifying this year by taking pole position for this weekend's non-championship races in Melbourne at Albert Park
Kelly took pole ahead of round one winner Jamie Whincup's Triple Eight Ford, with Todd's younger brother Rick Kelly in his Toll HSV Dealer Team Holden completing the top three, the same three drivers (in a different order) that took the top three places in the second race at the Clipsal 500.
Mark Skaife made it two Holden Racing team cars in the top four, with the Jack Daniels Racing Holdens of Steven Richards and Paul Dumbrell filling the next two places on the grid.
Like Adelaide, Holdens dominate the front of the grid, with seven of the top nine places taken by the Lion. Clipsal 500 race one winner Craig Lowndes is the second-best Ford in eighth, while rookie James Courtney outqualified his 2005 champion teammate Russell Ingall, eleventh versus 21st respectively.
Jack Perkins in his first run in the top series qualified 28th, and will start three places ahead of Garth Tander, who failed to set a time in qualifying after suffering engine problems.
