HRT, HSVDT to race in Adelaide
The Holden Racing Team and Toll HSV Dealer Team have been cleared to race in this weekend's Clipsal 500 in the Adelaide parklands, the first round of this year's V8 Supercar championship
The Toll HSV Dealer Team last week provided the Touring Car Entrants Group Australia (TEGA) with the necessary documents to prove that that the team satisfies the Team's Licence Agreement, ensuring their involvement in Adelaide and for the rest of the year.
However, Holden Racing Team (HRT) were unable to provide documentation in that timeframe. They received a further extension to clarify the situation but have still yet to provide the documentation.
This has led to TEGA and V8 Supercars Australia writing to Skaife Sports, the company that runs HRT, to provide information within the next two weeks that shows Mark Skaife is actually in control of the team, rather than acting on someone else's behalf.
TEGA and V8 Supercar Australia want to ensure that there is not a situation where control and/or ownership of more than one team is occuring, to ensure the playing field for all teams is as level as possible.
If HRT is unable to provide the required information, then their licence to compete in the V8 Supercar championship will be withdrawn.
The team has been given a reprieve however, being allowed to race at this weekend's event in the Adelaide Parklands even if the matter is not resolved before then.
