HRT, HSVDT expect to race in 2007
The Holden Racing Team and Toll HSV Dealer Team are expected to be cleared to race in this year's V8 Supercar championship, after a meeting with the Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA)
The two teams met with TEGA this week to discuss a protracted dispute over the two teams' licence agreements, regarding the ownership of the teams.
After the meeting, TEGA was satisfied that the teams meet the conditions of the agreement, pending submission of documents supporting what the teams said.
The teams were originally owned by Tom Walkinshaw's TWR Australia before Arrows' collapse saw the teams temporarily sold to Holden in 2003.
Holden Racing Team was then sold to lead driver Mark Skaife, while John and Margaret Kelly, the parents of Holden V8 Supercar drivers Todd and Rick, bought Toll HSV Dealer Team (known as KMart Racing at the time).
However, the two teams remained closely linked, while Walkinshaw has increased his involvement in Holden's V8 Supercar effort in recent times.
The close links between the two teams saw the two teams grouped together for testing purposes last year, the two teams' cars limited to the same number of test days as a two car team.
The two teams also took part in a controversial driver swap at the two endurance races in 2006.
