Dalziel completes his hat-trick

Ryan Dalziel has taken his third consecutive win and extended his lead in Formula Vauxhall

The young Scot was never headed at Donington, the secret to his success being some lightning quick laps in the opening stages. He admitted to battering his car over the kerbs so hard that he knocked the tracking out of line, but backed off once he had established his advantage.

The consistent Robert Bell was on the podium again, but couldn't stay on terms with Dalziel. Gary Paffett felt he was too cautious on the opening lap and had to fight back through the order to 3rd.

Milos Pavlovic claimed he would have been higher than 4th had he not been 'pushed off the road' on the opening lap, while Stefan Hodgetts should definitely have been better placed. The son of former BTCC champion Chris Hodgetts, he had several incidents and finished in an unaccustomed last place.

The result gives Dalziel a five-point championship lead over Bell with the season half completed.
