Dunwoody grabs the Porsche Supercup reins
Top jockey Richard Dunwoody is swapping his saddle for a steering wheel as he prepares to race in this weekend's Porsche Supercup
The double Grand National winner will drive a guest car in the British Grand Prix support race at Silverstone.
The other guest car will be raced by ex-tennis ace Henri Leconte.
'I'm very excited,' he said. 'There will be a lot to learn because I haven't even been to Silverstone before. I just hope to keep out of trouble.
'There are few thrills like winning the Grand National. Driving this Porsche 911 GT3 comes close.'
Dunwoody's has previously driven in handful of club races, but is relishing the challenge.
The jockey will swell the British ranks in the Silverstone Supercup race to three.
Series regulars Tim Harvey and Johnny Mowlem, will be racing for the AUTOSPORT-backed Parabolica McCulloch team.
One of them will be hoping to become the first British driver to win a round of the Supercup.
The championship is lead by Toyota Le Mans star Ralf Kelleners, ahead of former Mercedes driver Bernd Maylander.
The race takes place on Sunday morning as a precursor to the British Grand Prix.
