Stewart happy despite crash

Tony Stewart is happy with the first week of his season despite crashing out of the Daytona 500

Stewart had one of the strongest cars in the field, but his day ended when his Chevrolet got loose between turns three and four, and Kurt Busch could not avoid hitting him.

It robbed Stewart of completing a clean sweep of races from the week, after he won the Budweiser Shootout and his Gatorade Duel race.

"We can't leave here disappointed, we've got a lot to be proud of," he said. "Anytime you can win two out of three events we've got a lot to smile about.

"I'd by lying if I said I wasn't disappointed right now but when we look back a week or two from now, it's been a pretty strong week.

"Our guys have done such a good job all week, our car was so fast every time we went out on track."

Stewart was slightly baffled by his crash, which Busch took responsibility for afterwards.

"I'm not completely sure what happened out there," said Stewart. "All of a sudden it just took off on me.

"I was just in the middle of the corner and it took off big. But I'm excited about our season, we had the best car by far all day."
