Johnson expects success to continue

Two-time NASCAR Nextel Cup champion Jimmie Johnson believes that his second consecutive title is just the beginning of a long spell of success

The Hendrick Motorsports driver sealed the crown at Homestead for the second year running, but he feels that there is plenty more to come from his team.

"The good thing is I feel we're just really hitting our stride," said the 32-year-old. "I think we have a lot of good years ahead of us.

"We'll be fighting for more championships and certainly winning more races and years go by. Hopefully we can be a three-time champion in the near future."

Johnson added that he did not like to talk too much about his achievements, as he prefers to let people judge him by his performances on track.

"We like to go out and let our stats speak for us," he said. "That's been my style and the way we've done things all along.

"We'll leave the opinions to everyone else, and hope that our record speaks for itself. We'll work hard, and do everything we can to win races and championships.

"As each year goes by, and the core of the team stays together, we're able to make it stronger and stronger, and better and better.

"We learn from the past season, and try to pick up on our weak points. I'm looking forward to the future, we have a lot of good times ahead of us."
