Toseland happy with Silverstone switch

The Tech 3 Yamaha rider, a double World Superbike champion, is one of the few on the grid with extensive experience of Silverstone, which he hopes will give him an edge when the world championship moves to the venue next season.

"Well I'm not [sad] because if I am still here then Silverstone is going to be very good for me," Toseland said in Thursday's press conference at Donington. "These guys don't know it and I do.

"I think that it is only me and Chris Vermuelen that have raced at Silverstone. Change is not always a good thing, but sometimes it can be."

Other than Toseland and Vermuelen, only the Briton's current team-mate Colin Edwards also has experience of Silverstone from his WSB career.

Toseland did admit however that he may feel a pang of sadness when the MotoGP paddock packs up on Sunday night: "It's a shame it is leaving Donington just because of the heritage of the place, but they want four wheels instead of two now, so Silverstone is going to be the bike track for some time.

"I am sure that Silverstone can put a good show on as Donington has."
