MotoGP Catalunya Grand Prix qualifying - Start time, how to watch & more
MotoGP completes its current triple-header with a trip to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for the Catalan Grand Prix. Here's how to watch qualifying
MotoGP starts the second half of its condensed 2020 calendar at the Montmelo circuit following back-to-back races at Misano.
Franco Morbidelli topped Friday's FP2 session despite an early crash for the Petronas SRT rider, closely followed by Johann Zarco who also suffered a fall during the second session.
It marked the latest session of the unpredictable 2020 MotoGP campaign which has produced six different winners from the opening seven races, including four first-time winners, with the top four in the standings split by just four points.
Current championship leader Andrea Dovizioso ended FP2 a lowly 18th place for Ducati with nearest challenges Fabio Quartararo and Maverick Vinales 14th and fourth respectively in the afternoon session - but the Petronas SRT rider did top FP1. Joan Mir, fourth in the standings, ended FP2 sixth for Suzuki.
Ahead of his imminent announcement to confirm his 2021 deal with Petronas SRT, Valentino Rossi secured ninth place in FP2, while his expected news has effectively delayed Ducati's own 2021 rider announcements.
What time does qualifying start for the Catalunya MotoGP?
Qualifying for the Catalunya MotoGP is set to start at 2:10pm local time (1:10pm BST), using the regular Q1 and Q2 sessions format. Qualifying takes place directly after the 30-minute FP4 session which is set to start at 1:30pm local time (12:30pm BST).
The fastest 10 MotoGP riders on the FP1-2-3 combined timesheet automatically head into Q2, with the rest of the riders entering Q1 of qualifying. The two riders who are fastest in the 15-minute Q1 session will progress into Q2 to compete with the top 10 from practice. Q2, which also lasts 15 minutes, decides who gets pole position and the qualifying order for the front four rows of the grid.
Date: Saturday 26 September 2020
Start time: 2:10pm local time - 1:10pm BST
How can I watch qualifying?

What's the weather forecast for qualifying at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya?
