Lorenzo may have second operation
Jorge Lorenzo may have a second operation on his arm following his successful 'arm pump' surgery after his debut win in Portugal
The 20-year-old Spaniard said that the pressure inside his right arm, used for accelerating and braking, was so intense that upon the first incision being made, the muscle literally 'popped' out.
Lorenzo was still wearing a dressing over the arm today at the track in Shanghai.
Arm pump is a regular affliction suffered by racers following the intense effort needed in holding onto the bikes under braking, acceleration and to force the bike quickly from side to side, where the gyroscopic effect is greater through ever increasing cornering speeds.
The Yamaha rider, winner of his first MotoGP race in the previous event in Estoril, is unsure he will be perfectly fit for this weekend's race in China, but the Spaniard admitted he will feel better than in Portugal.
"I don't know if 100 per cent, but I hope I'll be in much better condition than in Portugal," he said.
