Jacque takes full blame for crash

Olivier Jacque has admitted that the first-lap incident that he was involved in was completely his fault

The Kawasaki rider collided with Dani Pedrosa under braking towards the end of the lap, before Colin Edwards and Chris Vermeulen were also caught up in the accident.

"I am really sorry about what happened and there are no excuses," said Jacque. "I made a mistake."

The Frenchman injured his coccyx in the crash, and he will join Pedrosa on the sidelines for Monday's post-event test.

Jacque added that he missed his braking point because his vision was restricted by several of the bikes in front of him.

"I was in the middle of the group and I missed my braking marker, and when I braked it was too late," he said.

"There was no space, I had no way out and I couldn't avoid touching Edwards' rear wheel."

Jacque also admitted that he had been trying to make up a lot of places in one move while the field was closely bunched together.

"It was a big group and I saw a good opportunity to make places up after the fast turn into the chicane," he said.

"Now I still feel a little dizzy but I feel even worse for the team as we had worked really hard throughout the weekend and the bike was feeling very good."
