Grapevine: Donington to host charity auction

The 'Riders for Health Charity', the official charity of MotoGP, has revealed that initial list of items that will be up for auction at the charity's biggest day of the year, the 'Day of Champions' on June 21st at Donington Park

Riders for Health's speciality is to use motorcycles to get medical aid to hard to reach areas of Africa.

Items confirmed so far include the actual crash helmet used by Chris Vermeulen to win the French GP at Le Mans, while Suzuki have offered two weekend paddock passes.

Suzuki have also included team goodie bags, a pillion ride on the back of former British Superbike champion John Reynolds and a track day for two people, who will be helping out the squad on the Friday of the British Grand Prix.

"A lucky couple will be able to help us out for the day, even if it is running errands, washing the fairings or making the tea for the boys," said Suzuki team boss Paul Denning.

The list of items to be auctioned includes:

Colin Edwards: helmet, gloves, boots
Deni Pedrosa: leathers
John Hopkins: helmet
Loris Capirossi: leathers
Chris Vermeulen: helmet
Sylvain Guintoli: leathers
Marco Melandri: leathers
Makoto Tamada: leathers
Alex Hofmann: leathers and boots
