Edwards heads second practice

Tech 3 Yamaha's Colin Edwards topped the times in the second free practice session at Sepang for the Malaysian round of the MotoGP world championship

With just over a minute remaining in the session, Shinya Nakano's Honda topped the times, having done so for most of the session.

But a flurry of late laps by Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Edwards saw the top spot change three times as the session drew to a close. Edwards' time of 2:02.667 also just eclipsed Rossi's effort in the earlier session today.

Rossi ended up with the second fastest time, bumping Stoner down to third after the chequered flag, Stoner having been on top of the times when the flag fell, less than a tenth ahead of Nakano who improved in the closing minutes but still ended up fourth fastest.

A late lap for Dani Pedrosa got him up to fifth position, ahead of Loris Capirossi's Suzuki and Andrea Dovizioso's Team Scot Honda. Randy de Puniet, Nicky Hayden and Jorge Lorenzo rounded out the top ten, all less than a second behind Edwards.
