Denning keen to observe Spies test
Suzuki team boss Paul Denning says that he is looking forward to seeing Ben Spies test a MotoGP bike at Sepang on Monday
The double AMA Superbike champion has expressed a desire to switch to MotoGP in the past, and he will ride Suzuki's prototype GSV-R for the first time in the post-race test after this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix.
"I'm looking forward to seeing him on the bike," said Denning. "He's got a very aggressive riding style and a huge amount of natural ability."
Denning added that he is not expecting too much from Spies on Monday, as it will be his first time on the bike and at the circuit.
He also said that while there is no guarantee that Spies will make the switch with Suzuki, Denning believes that the manufacturer is keen to groom new talent.
"It's difficult to say if Ben will eventually arrive as a MotoGP rider for Suzuki, but that's his target," he said.
"He seems to have got over his fear of flying, he's coming to Malaysia, so let's see what happens.
"I think Suzuki very much likes the idea of bringing up its own rider like they have in the past with Kevin (Schwantz) and guys like that."
