Pedrosa tops Qatar warm-up
Dani Pedrosa topped this morning's MotoGP warm-up in Qatar. After sliding and falling off his Repsol Honda mid way through the 20-minute session, the Spaniard went back to get his spare bike and set the fastest time, clocking a time of 1:56.522
Next in line was the Rizla Suzuki of John Hopkins, with his fastest lap - 0.078 seconds slower than Pedrosa - coming right at the end of the session.
Ducati Marlboro rider Casey Stoner held the top position for most of the morning but in the end had to settle for third place, with a time 0.186 seconds away from the top spot. Teammate Loris Capirossi could only set the 11th best time.
Marco Melandri took his Honda Gresini to fourth, ahead of Randy de Puniet's Kawasaki and Kenny Roberts Jr.'s KR212V. Carlos Checa took seventh spot, with Alex Barros eighth.
The top Fiat Yamaha Team rider was Colin Edwards, the American just ahead of 10th place Valentino Rossi. The Italian, who will start today's race from pole position, ended up 1.262 seconds behind Pedrosa.
World Champion Nicky Hayden had to settle for 16th place, almost two seconds slower than Repsol Honda teammate Pedrosa.
Jeremy McWilliams didn't take part in the-warm up after yesterday's crash in qualifying. The Ulsterman was seen walking on crutches, and it is yet unknown whether he'll take part in the race.
