Casey Stoner continues Honda MotoGP test work at Sepang

Retired double world champion Casey Stoner completed more testing mileage for Honda this week ahead of the start of official 2015 MotoGP winter running at Sepang next Wednesday

Stoner has continued to make semi-regular test appearances for Honda since retiring from competition at the end of 2012, and will maintain that role this season.

He carried out back-to-back tests with Honda's 2014 and '15 MotoGP bikes over three occasionally rainy days at Malaysian Grand Prix venue Sepang.

"Overall it's been a good test, very positive and we got a lot done," said Stoner.

"On the first day we worked on the base set-up and tested some small things before the rain arrived and we had to stop.

"Then on day two I spent a lot of time doing a back-to-back chassis comparison from last year's bike to this year's and I also tested different variations of the chassis.

"Brembo brought some new aluminium callipers for us to try and Honda had several other test items which we managed to get through before the rain came once again.

"On the final day we confirmed some feelings from yesterday and tried a few electronic packages as well as some different suspension."

The Australian also had a run on Honda's CBR1000RR for the Suzuka 8 Hours.

The first fully-fledged MotoGP test of the winter takes place at Sepang from February 4-6, followed by an additional day reserved for test riders only on which Michelin tyre development will be carried out ahead of the French firm's 2016 return.
