Abraham may miss Silverstone's MotoGP race

Karel Abraham may be forced to miss MotoGP's race at Silverstone as a result of the hand injury he suffered during the recent test at Mugello

Abraham suffered a number of falls during testing - among them a massive high side at Casanova - and damaged his hand in the process. He was restricted to just 19 laps during Wednesday's re-arranged test at Aragon.

An initial assessment of his injuries at the Clinica Mobile suggested he may have broken two fingers, putting his participation at Silverstone in jeopardy.

The Cardion Ducati rider, who delivered his best finish of the season at Barcelona in 12th, said the fall had been caused by a problem with the bike.

"We were unlucky, as in Barcelona the fall was partly my fault, but not here," Abraham said after his crash.

"Something happened with the bike, which we are trying to understand. The problem is that every time we fall I'm hurting, and this doesn't allow us to work seamlessly.

"Actually we were doing well, but now with a hand in this conditions and the bike being destroyed, we are forced to stop the test early. Really bad luck. Now on Friday, once the hand's swelling goes down, we will perform new tests to assess my recovery time."
