125cc: Talmacsi takes dominant pole

Gabor Talmacsi has taken a dominant pole position in Valencia today ahead of tomorrow's 125cc championship decider

The Hungarian is ten points ahead of Aspar Aprilia teammate Hector Faubel, who will start the race from the second spot on the grid, 0.373 seconds behind his rival.

The Spaniard set provisional pole position yesterday and headed the times for the first half of today's qualifying session, but then Talmacsi set several faster times, including the fastest time of 1:39.029, which he set on his last flying lap.

Sergio Gadea made it an Aspar 1-2-3 by setting today's third fastest time, even though the Spaniard didn't manage to improve on the time he set yesterday.

The first non-Aprilia bike was the Derbi of Lukas Pesek, half a tenth behind Gadea.

Aprilia's Pablo Nieto and Simone Corsi will take the start from the fifth and sixth spot respectively, followed by the Derbi of Nicolas Terol.

Mattia Pasini qualified only eighth, ahead of Pol Espargaro in ninth and Sandro Cortese in tenth, all three riders on Aprilia.

The first Honda is Esteve Rabat, who will start tomorrow's race in 11th place.
