Moto2: Lorenzo clinches dominant pole
Jorge Lorenzo extended his pole position margin to almost a second as he dominated the second qualifying session for his home 250cc race in Barcelona
The reigning champion and points leader was 1.2 seconds faster than his rivals in the session itself, as he repeatedly improved on his Friday time before finishing the afternoon with a 1:45.098 lap - 0.915 seconds clear of second placed compatriot Hector Barbera.
Neither Barbera nor third-placed Andrea Dovizioso were able to improve on their Friday times, but they retained their front row positions.
Wild card rider Alex Debon leapt to fourth in the final moments of the session, with Thomas Luthi appearing in fifth after a similar late improvement.
Alex de Angelis will start sixth, ahead of Mugello winner Alvaro Bautista and Mika Kallio, who also had to rely on their Friday laps.
