Moto2: Kallio leads first qualifying at Jerez
Mika Kallio took provisional pole position in first qualifying for the 250cc race at Jerez this weekend
The Finnish Red Bull KTM rider set a fierce pace and only Spaniard Alex Debon's last lap of the session could get near his quickest time.
Julian Simon was a distant third, seven tenths of a second away from the provisional pole time.
Hiroshi Aoyama made it three KTM's in the top four, but couldn't challenge Kallio's time, despite setting the pace in the first half of the 45-minute session.
Mattia Pasini and Hector Barbera, the two riders to finish ahead of Kallio in Qatar, were only eighth and ninth fastest respectively.
