Carlin expands 2016 Indy Lights line-up for Neil Alberico
Carlin will expand its Indy Lights entry to three cars for 2016, with American Neil Alberico joining Ed Jones and Felix Serralles
The British team won races with Jones and ex-Formula 1 driver Max Chilton during its first programme in the United States last year.
Alberico, who began his car racing career in Formula Ford in the UK at the start of the decade, was runner-up in Pro Mazda last season, having been third in the 2014 championship and second in USF2000 a year earlier.
"Carlin came to the US and immediately proved they could win races," said the 23-year-old American.
"They have a winning formula for success, so of course I am happy to be part of that for 2016.
"There will be challenges to adapt to as I learn the nuances of the new car, but driving alongside a pair of experienced team-mates like Ed and Felix will help accelerate the learning process."
Team boss Trevor Carlin said Alberico had impressed in both Lights testing and his campaign in the feeder category last year.
"From the outset he looked like one of the drivers to beat and throughout the year he handled himself very well both in and out of the car," he said.
"Neil has impressed us already in the small amount of testing he has done with the team and we're really looking forward to seeing him race alongside Ed and Felix in what we believe is a very strong driver line-up."
Other drivers committed to Lights for 2016 include race winner RC Enerson at Schmidt and returnee Zach Veach, who joins Belardi Auto having spent a year on the sidelines after finishing third in the '14 championship.
Andretti Autosport will field second-year driver Shelby Blackstock and Pro Mazda graduate Dalton Kellett, while Kyle Kaiser stays with the Juncos team that took him to sixth last season.
