Road America IndyCar: Simon Pagenaud leads all-Penske top four
Simon Pagenaud led an all-Penske top four in third practice for the Road America IndyCar race, beating his team-mates Will Power, Helio Castroneves and Josef Newgarden
Reigning series champion Pagenaud left it until the closing stages of the 45-minute session to take top spot from Power, with a time of 1m42.0439.
Power was over a quarter of a second behind Pagenaud, with Castroneves a further tenth behind.
Newgarden was fourth fastest in the fourth Penske entry, with his fastest time coming right at the very end of the session.
He had beached his Dallara-Chevrolet at Turn 14 20 minutes into the session, but was able to continue after being recovered.
That corner caught out Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay on Friday.
Chip Ganassi Racing's Scott Dixon was the fastest Honda-powered driver in fifth place, ahead of Andretti Autosport runner Marco Andretti.
Spencer Pigot impressed with seventh place, but was over a second behind Pagenaud.
Graham Rahal was eighth, fractionally faster than James Hinchcliffe.
Hunter-Reay rounded out the top 10.
Max Chilton was 12th fastest despite only setting four timed laps due to a delay in a brake change.
Mikhail Aleshin, who did not run on Friday due to immigration issues that stopped him returning to America after racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours, was 20th fastest after reclaiming his car from stand-in Robert Wickens.
