Indy 500 receives 38 entries
This year's Indianapolis 500 is set to get a full grid of 33 cars after 38 entries were submitted for the race
The chances of a full field were in doubt as only 20 cars took part in the opening race of the IndyCar Series at Homestead, but several teams only contesting a part-schedule this year have entered the race.
Some of the established IndyCar teams have also helped boost the field by entering additional cars, such as Michael Andretti with Andretti Green Racing.
Vision Racing, Panther Racing and AJ Foyt Racing will all bring extra cars to the race as well.
While the number of cars entered looks impressive, currently only 25 of them have drivers confirmed.
Late entries confirmed for the race include former IndyCar regular Ryan Briscoe, who is racing for Penske with Porsche in the American Le Mans Series this year.
The reigning IndyCar and Indy 500 champions have submitted a third entry for the race, but Briscoe will not be in the car.
