Bobbi and Gardel at the last

Matteo Bobbi and Gabriele Gardel led a BMS Scuderia Italia one-two-three in Hockenheim's FIA GT round, but the trio of Ferrari 500 Maranello's only moved up into the top slots when the GPC Giesse Ferrari 575 Maranello driven by Fabio Babini picked up a late puncture

Babini - sharing the driving with Philipp Peter - was in the lead when trouble struck with just two laps to go. The crew eventually had to be satisfied with sixth place.

"We were lucky when Babini had his problem," admitted Bobbi after taking victory. "I'm very happy for the team they did an unbelieveable job today."

Bobbi and Gardel's team-mates who joined them on the podium were Luca Capellari/Fabrizio Gollin in second place and Stefano Livio/Enzo Calderari/Lilian Bryner in third.

Jamie Campbell-Walter and Jamie Derbyshire in the Creation Autosportif Lister prevented a Ferrari clean-sweep in taking their best result of the season to date in fourth. The GPC Giesse 575s filled fifth and sixth places with Emanuele Naspetti/Mike Hezemans ahead of the unfortunate Peter/Babini.
