Saleen speeds to pole again
The Konrad Motorsport Saleen will start round four of the FIA GT Championship at Hockenheim from pole position after Walter Lechner Jr took his second successive top slot in the category
As has become customary, the Saleens were the dominant force in qualifying, with four of the machines qualifying in the top six.
Magny-Cours winners Uwe Alzen and Michael Bartels and the Vitaphone Saleen, fresh from their stint in the LMES at Monza last weekend, will join Lechner Jr on the front row.
Lechner Jr's brother Robert, who shares a Ferrari 575 M Maranello with former Formula 1 driver Karl Wendlinger and Toto Wolff, will start third on the grid. Reigning champion Matteo Bobbi and Gabriel Gardel will start fourth in the first of the BMS Scuderia Italia 550 Maranellos.
The other BMS car, driven by championship leaders Luca Cappellari and Fabrizio Gollin, is way down in 12th position, two places behind the Creation Lister Storm driven by Jamie Campbell-Walter and Jamie Derbyshire.
Stephane Ortelli and Emmanuel Collard are on pole position in the NGT category ahead of Freisinger Porsche team-mates Sascha Maassen and Lucas Luhr.
