Yet another win for France

Team France won yet another A1 Grand Prix race as Alexandre Premat dominated proceedings in Malaysia

Premat's win owed as much to good pit work by the DAMS team as his overall pace, and had Switzerland's Neel Jani and Great Britain's Robbie Kerr not been delayed by sticking wheel nuts, they may have been able to challenge. But the fact is that they did have problems, France didn't and it's now eight wins in a row.

Jani took second, which was a fine result after his delay, and the Swiss car is now the most serious challenger to the French. Good pit work from Team Czech Republic allowed Tomas Enge to take his first A1 podium, while Team Italy also enjoyed their best result courtesy of slick tyre changes.

Alex Yoong equalled Malaysia's best result in fifth to the delight of the fans. He passed New Zealand's Matt Halliday in the All Black car two laps from the end to seal the result.

USA's Bryan Herta did well to take seventh ahead of jet-lagged Timo Scheider for Germany and Ireland's Ralph Firman, who also lost a big chunk of time in the pits.

Nelson Piquet Jr took the final point for Brazil, which capped a great fightback drive after he stalled on the grid, but the single score was not enough to keep Team Brazil ahead of the Swiss in the standings.

Kerr retired after his slow stop, while Team China barrel rolled out of the running at the first corner.
