Wilson pleased despite injury
Justin Wilson was happy to seal second place in the Champ Car standings despite suffering due to his injured wrist during the race
The Brit led the most laps of the race, but lost first place on the final lap when he ran wide and Sebastien Bourdais was able to get ahead.
However, Wilson was pleased that his damaged wrist from Surfers Paradise hadn't prevented him from competing.
"It wasn't too bad until about halfway through the race," he said. "Each lap and each downshift, it got slightly worse. On each downshift the shocks and the gearbox were definitely letting me know that I'd damaged my hand."
Wilson doesn't believe that his injury cost him the win in the season finale though.
"We were struggling on our wet tyres in the last five laps as the track was drying out and I could see Sebastien catching me," he said.
"The car was starting to slide more, and take longer to slow down, and I was just trying to control that.
"Unfortunately on the last lap I ran wide at turn four, and Sebastien got a run out of turn five.
"We are just working towards next year now. We've finished third in the standings last year, second this year, so we want to continue that trend."
