Wilson: CART will bounce back
Briton Justin Wilson is confident that the beleaguered US-based CART series will turn its fortunes around despite its recent troubles
In recent times CART has suffered as many of its top teams and drivers, not to mention engine suppliers Toyota and Honda, have defected to the rival Indy Racing League. But Wilson, who tested for the crack Newman-Hass team recently, believes that the nadir has been reached and that CART would be a sound career move for him.
"There's a lot of talk going on at the moment about CART and people saying it's on its way out, but I still feel there's a lot of enthusiasm and I reckon that it's at the bottom of its lull," he said. "There's been a lot of negative talk, but I believe next year it will be strong, especially as everybody will be using the same engines. There are a lot of teams talking about going to CART, but these words just need to be put into action."
Wilson was speaking at Valencia after claiming his first Dallara Nissan World Series win of the season.
