Valles: Liverpool can still snatch title
Liverpool's Adrian Valles has promised to attack from the front as he bids claim the inaugural Superleague Formula title
The Spaniard had the perfect qualifying, bagging pole position at Jerez while championship leader Davide Rigon will start last for Beijing Guoan after failing to set a time in qualifying.
"It was my aim to get the pole and from there to win the race - it's as much as I can do," said Valles. "It would be ideal for me if Rigon didn't finish the first race, maybe he will have some of the bad luck I had earlier this season.
"It's always good to get pole, especially at home. Okay, so it's not the home race for the team, but it's the home race for me and I have a lot of friends and family supporting me this weekend.
"We've done a good job so far and I would love to win this championship."
Liverpool trail Beijing Guoan by 62 points, with 100 points up for grabs this weekend. Rigon can claim the title by claiming 39 points, the equivalent of an eighth and a ninth place in this weekend's races.
