Power hungry for victory at home
Will Power has said that he will be going all-out to dominate the next round of the Champ Car World Series at Surfers Paradise
The Team Australia driver had started the race from pole last year, but his hopes of taking his maiden victory on home soil were dashed after he was hit by Sebastien Bourdais.
Power has dropped to fourth in the standings after Justin Wilson's victory last weekend at Assen, but the Australian has said that he only has one thing on his mind ahead of the next race.
"This is the one we've been waiting for," he said. "There's unfinished business and we're coming here with just one goal and that's to win everything on offer in front of a home crowd."
Power made his debut at the circuit on the Gold Coast back in 2005, and he said that he is determined to take a victory after the disappointment of his return one year later.
"Last year it was awesome to take pole position but after the race it was so disappointing to have come away empty handed when we knew we could have won," he said.
"We're only 15 points shy of Justin so all it will take is a committed effort back home to get our season back on track, but more importantly I want to win it for all the supporters who have backed me throughout my career."
The next round of the series is still more than a month away though, as the Australian event takes place on October 21.
