Kerr thrills crowd with home win

The Brands Hatch crowd got exactly what they wanted, when Robbie Kerr won the A1GP sprint race for Team Great Britain this morning

Kerr led the race from the rolling start to the finish, and was utterly untroubled by Team Germany's Nico Hulkenberg, who followed him at a respectful distance throughout the 15-lap race.

France's Loic Duval claimed third early on, but lost the position to Italian Enrico Toccacelo when he went off in the middle stages of the race. Toccacelo then pulled away for a comfortable third spot.

Behind France, Malaysian Alex Yoong was able to hold off the faster cars of Jeroen Bleekemolen (Team Netherlands) and Narain Karthikeyan (Team India) for fifth.

South Africa (Adrian Zaugg) and Switzerland (Sebastien Buemi) were behind this trio for much of the race, but both came to grief when Buemi's move on Zaugg at Paddock resulted in both cars landing in the gravel.
