Jarvis takes first win for Team GB

Team Great Britain finally broke their A1GP duck in the Mexico City feature race today, as Oliver Jarvis controlled the race beautifully to take the win

Jonathan Summerton (Team USA) slotted into second place behind Jarvis at the start, and, pit stops aside, this state of affairs did not change throughout. Summerton seemed to be the quicker driver after the pit stops, but although he chipped away at the gap it was never enough to worry Jarvis.

Third went to Team South Africa, who have continued to improve their car every time it went out this weekend. Driver Adrian Zaugg did some quick laps after his pit stops and this helped him ahead of Team Italy's Enrico Toccacelo, who came home fourth.

Team China, with Ho Pin Tung driving, had actually run third in the early laps but ran into trouble in the pit stops.

Sprint race winner Alex Yoong (Team Malaysia) managed fifth place after a terrible start, but did not in any case seem to have the pace to win this one. He did, however, come out on top of a fraught battle with Team New Zealand (Jonny Reid) and Team Portugal (Alvaro Parente).

Team Germany's Christian Vietoris was only able to climb to ninth place after starting from the back, so the championship remains open as the series heads to its penultimate round in Shanghai in three weeks.
