Hulkenberg confident for Brno
New A1 GP star Nico Hulkenberg believes that his previous knowledge of the Brno circuit will allow him to be at the front again this weekend
The 19-year-old raced at the Czech circuit in Formula BMW last year and knows what the key is to being fast around the undulating track.
"It is a flowing natural circuit, and because there are a lot of switchback combinations it's necessary to sacrifice the first corner to get a good line for the second," he said.
The rookie admitted that he still has to learn how to get the best out of himself in A1 GP's unique qualifying session, but doesn't think that grid position will be as important on the wide circuit.
"It is important to go to the limit on every one of the four laps in qualifying," he said, "since there were virtually no overtaking manoeuvres in the sprint race last weekend.
"However, I believe that things will be different in Brno due to the circuit characteristics."
Team seat holder Willi Weber admitted that while he was expecting the team to be on the pace again this weekend, a repeat performance will be difficult in a series with identical cars.
