Halliday excited ahead of return

Matt Halliday is looking forward to his return to A1GP action after sitting out the last few rounds

New Zealand are currently in second place in the standings after a series of strong results from Jonny Reid, and Halliday believes that the team can maintain their form with him in the car.

"We have to continue the momentum that has been built over the last three rounds," said Halliday. "Between the two of us, Jonny (Reid) and I have done a great job and we push each other to keep improving."

Halliday feels that the biggest challenge he will face is settling in with the team, not the car.

"I'll be focusing very hard to get back into the groove," he said. "I feel like I've been away for a while, but they're good guys and a great team so I'm sure I'll settle back in quickly."

Halliday has been given the chance to race in Durban this weekend due to his previous experience of the track, where he took a fourth place in the feature race last year.

"I anticipate there will be some spectacular racing this weekend," he said. "It's nice to know you can pass on this circuit, I just have to look at last year's event where I made up 10 places in the feature race."

New Zealand are 25 points behind series leaders Germany in the standings at the moment, while reigning champions France are just five points adrift in third place.
