Anderson expects Ireland to improve
Gary Anderson believes that Team Ireland can move forward in A1GP as he develops his relationship with the team
The team have called on Anderson to help improve their fortunes due to his previous experience in Formula One with the Jordan and Stewart teams, and last time out in New Zealand was his first event with the team.
Former Formula Nippon champion Richard Lyons qualified the Irish car in the top 10 for the first time this season at Taupo, and despite the team failing to score points, Anderson is upbeat after their performance.
"I enjoyed my first race, despite the frustration of not getting a result," said Anderson.
"This weekend we're all a bit more used to working together, and we've got some momentum so I see no reason why we can't challenge the front-runners."
Lyons has previous experience of the Eastern Creek circuit that will host this weekend's Australian round, as he tested a V8 Supercar at the track last year.
"The team is working very well and we unlocked a lot of pace from the car last time out," said Lyons. "We just need to keep that momentum going now and we'll be in the hunt for points."
