WRC - Portugal: Ogier is through with a 11m48.9s benchmark, and sure enough he is missing having another competitive car (taking a frontrunner's lines) road sweeping for him.

"It's a shame Elfyn is already stopped!"
WRC - Portugal: Nothing much to choose between Ogier and Mikkelsen at the middle split, but Ogier has taken a couple of seconds out of second-placed Meeke at split one.
WRC - Portugal: Mikkelsen and Meeke are onto the stage too. Mikkelsen is three tenths off Ogier at split one.

Rally leader Latvala is way down in 11th on the road - a perk of not having a great season so far.
Formula E - Berlin: The first free practice session for the German Formula E round at Berlin Tempelhof took place earlier this morning. Sebastien Buemi, driving for the e.DAMS team topped the 45-minute session. Nick Heidfeld was second for Venturi ahead of Virgin's Jaime Alguersuari.
WRC - Portugal Ogier is running with an extra minute (three-minute gap instead of two) to Bertelli ahead.
WRC - Portugal: Naturally Ogier is fastest by miles at the first split, but that's compared to Al-Qassimi and Bertelli.

If he is on a Saturday charge, his first targets to compare to are Sordo and Tanak.
WRC - Portugal Evans damaged the right-front wheel on the Fiesta. He carried on driving for a while after the impact, but it must have snapped a brake line and the wheel caught fire. He and Dan Barritt used their own extinguisher, then flagged down Khalid Al-Qassimi to take his as well, but didn't need it in the end - sand did the job.
WRC - Portugal: Evans going off is a blow for M-Sport as it tries to put mileage on its brand new Ford Fiesta RS WRC, though Tanak's example still being fourth is a great start.

It's not ideal for Ogier either. He never enjoys being first on the road on the loose gravel stages (as is the championship leader's fate for day one and in theory also day two on every rally this year) and felt the Portuguese stages were the worst he'd ever encountered for that.

On day two, the Rally2 runners go first, so Ogier at least had Evans, Khalid Al-Qassimi and Lorenzo Bertelli sweeping the road for him. Now that's down to two cars ahead. That's still better than none, though.
WRC - Portugal: Drama immediately - Elfyn Evans, first on the road after electrical problems yesterday, has stopped on the tracking system and reports from on the stage suggest he's crashed.
WRC - Portugal: Yesterday was a tense one. Forest fires nearby made for an odd and dramatic backdrop, and forced the cancellation of one of the five stages.

Between loose gravel, dust and tyre wear, the order kept changing through the morning before Jari-Matti Latvala took a hint of control. But with the top six covered by less than half a minute and over half the rally still to go, nothing is anywhere near certain yet.

Here's how they stand:

1 Jari-Matti Latvala
2 Kris Meeke +11.1s
3 Andreas Mikkelsen +16.0s
4 Ott Tanak +17.8s
5 Dani Sordo +21.8s
6 Sebastien Ogier +25.9s
7 Mads Ostberg +31.3s
8 Hayden Paddon +40.0s
9 Thierry Neuville +1m08.0s
10 Robert Kubica +1m29.1s
WRC - Portugal: DAVID EVANS on the 11.53-mile Baiao stage that begins our day:

The crews will run the furthest inland of all three days today, heading east of Fafe to the roads through the Serra do Marao mountains – which includes the sixth highest peak in Portugal, for the topographically minded among you. As adverbs go, topographically's got to be right up there.

Baiao is first up. It starts close to Carneiro, runs across to Baiao and then comes back up the other side of the hill almost to where it started from.

Here's what Kris Meeks' co-driver Paul Nagle thinks: "This one is a lot like the road from yesterday. It's faster in the first part and then quite slow and technical along the edge of a cliff. It's a good surface though and a nice way to start the day."
Welcome back to AUTOSPORT Race Centre Live for day two of our Rally Portugal, Monaco Grand Prix supports, Berlin Formula E and Indianapolis 500 quadruple bill.

Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: And there it is. Jack Harvey wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of Ethan Ringel, and Scott Anderson beats RC Enerson for the final podium place. That's a 1-2-3-4 for Schmidt.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Jones is fine. He lost control early in the corner, and scrubbed off a reasonable amount of speed on his way up to the SAFER barrier.

There's quite a debris field, though. We can't see this being restarted, so that crash has very likely just handed the win to Harvey.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Three laps to go, and wev'e just seen championship leader Ed Jones spin into the wall at Turn 4.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: The leaders are starting to lap the backmarkers, and Harvey took advantage of Ringel's move around the lapped Spencer Pigot to slingshot past the both of them. The Brit leads again with five laps to go. He and Ringel have dropped the cars behind: this is a two-car battle for the win now.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Ringel's back in the lead ...
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Harvey reclaims the lead with 16 laps to go. Enerson managed to get past Anderson into third.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Problems for Felix Serralles, who is crawling into the pits.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Enerson is going to need to get a wriggle on here - he's in danger of being dropped by the lead three.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Carlin is reporting that they couldn't risk sending Chilton out due to an "issue with his car".
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Ringel, Harvey, Scott Anderson and RC Enerson are breaking away from the rest of the field at the moment. Kyle Kaiser leads the chasing pack ahead of Sean Rayhall.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Harvey drafted past into the lead on the back straight; Ringel returned the favour on the run down to Turn 1. There's going to be a lot of this ...
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: Green flag! Ringel retains his advantage, and everyone gets through the first corner cleanly.
Indy Lights - Indianapolis Motor Speedway: The cars are on their installation lap for the Indy Lights Freedom 100. The previous track record took an absolute thumping in qualifying yesterday, so it's going to be interesting to see how they race.

Max Chilton is not going to make the start - we're not sure why yet. Ethan Ringel is on pole alongside Jack Harvey.
Indy 500 - Carb Day: The chequered flag waves, and Will Power remains unbeaten at the top. Scott Dixon, Tony Kanaan, Simon Pagenaud and Takuma Sato round out the top five.

The next time the engines on these cars are fired up, they'll be preparing to start their parade laps on Sunday, when we'll have full coverage from just after 17:00 BST.

WRC - Portugal: Look out for the afternoon report shortly on AUTOSPORT.com, and join us again tomorrow for SS8 at 08:50am BST.

WRC - Portugal: And the rally order with most of the WRC runners through SS7:

1 Latvala 1h07m19.4s
2 Meeke +11.1s
3 Mikkelsen +16s
4 Tanak +17.8s
5 Sordo +21.8s
6 Ogier +25.9s
WRC - Portugal: with the major runners and riders through, here's the provisional SS7 order:

1 Latvala 11m30.1s
2 Ogier +2.8s
3 Tanak +3.4s
4 Meeke +3.7s
5 Mikkelsen +5.1s
6 Ostberg +5.6s
Indy 500 - Carb Day Whatever Montoya's problem might have beeen appears to have been resolved: he's back on track, and lapping in the 224mph range.

Meanwhile, Takuma Sato has moved up to P5.
WRC - Portugal: Paddon also falls at the final hurdle in the last stint, only eighth on this stage after being up on Ogier in two of the stints.
WRC - Portugal: Tanak is through and lost a bit of time in the third split, he's only third on the stage. Still a brilliant effort from the Estonian, though.

"Since the beginning of the rally I've been really happy, I'm really enjoying it," says Tanak.
Indy 500 - Carb Day The green flag waves with six minutes remaining.
WRC - Portugal: Haydon Paddon looks set to challenge for a top three spit on this stage also, he managed second overall on SS4 and look's quick again on the splits here.
WRC - Portugal: Latvala extends his lead to 11.1s overall, ahead of Meeke.
WRC - Portugal: Latvala is through and set's the fastest time so far! Don't get too excited Latvala fans, though. Tanak could well be taking it from him...
Indy 500 - Carb Day Track inspection. There's about 10 minutes remaining in the session, and Power is still fastest.
WRC - Portugal: Tanak will almost certainly take fourth off Sordo now, and he's going to be very close to Andreas Mikkelsen in third if he can keep up this pace.
WRC - Portugal: Sordo is also through at the end of the stage, 4.9s down on Ogier's benchmark.

We're awaiting Latvala's third split time now, and it comes in. He's the only driver to go faster than Ogier in the third split, and more importantly, he's quicker than second placed man Meeke.
WRC - Portugal: Neuville is through and there is no tread on his front right tyre. he's 8.6s down on Ogier.

Tanak is setting a furious pace in the new Fiesta, 3s up on Ogier in the second split. That's Meeke, Latvala and Tanak quicker than Ogier in that particular split.
