Q & A with Giorgio Pantano

Q. Two podiums in a weekend - you've certainly had a good weekend here in Hungary

Giorgio Pantano: Yeah, I think we've had a very good result yesterday and today. Unfortunately here it is very hard to overtake, but I have been thinking all weekend that I have a really good car, and I've probably been quicker than anyone else. But when you start third or fourth or sixth it's always difficult to overtake here - you just need to hope that some driver will make a mistake, like I did yesterday to be honest! That didn't really happen today, and Premat was driving really well.

Q. How was the start for you?

Pantano: My start was very good, but Rosberg didn't make a very good start and he closed the door on me and I had to brake hard, unfortunately. If I got through Rosberg I think I would have been second or third, because it was a really good start.

Q. You were pushing him quite hard after that, but there just didn't seem to be a way past.

Pantano: You know, there is just no way you can stay close to someone and pass here because of the downforce. But we did well, we had a really good car this weekend, we had a chance to win yesterday but unfortunately because of a mistake I made I lost five seconds, and that was that.

Q. There didn't seem to be much more you could do this weekend.

Pantano: No, I don't think so. Today, if I went through the start like I did yesterday then I could have been second or third, and we saw what happened to Viso and Pla later so I could maybe have been first. It probably wasn't my time to win the race this weekend, but we still did a really good job.

Q. Do you think your first win is just around the corner?

Pantano: Yeah, for sure.

Q. You have a few weeks off - will you get away anywhere?

Pantano: We can say it's a holiday, but I will be working at the gym because I have to do it - I will spend some afternoons at the beach because I live very close, but really it will just be the usual thing.
