Piquet heads Turkey practice

The Piquet Sports driver held the top spot for most of the 30-minute session, eventually reducing his best time to a 1:37.753. This left him with a 0.2 seconds advantage over Giorgio Pantano, who was second quickest for FMS in the event backed by the team's title sponsor Petrol Ofisi.

Alex Premat was third fastest, demonstrating ART's pace, while Clivio Piccione was an impressive fourth for DPR. Timo Glock was in the top six all session, eventually taking fifth for iSport, while championship leader Lewis Hamilton - on his first visit to the track - was sixth over half a second shy of Piquet.

Adam Carroll was seventh for Racing Engineering, ahead of Lucas di Grassi (Durango) and Javier Villa, who produced his most competitive showing of the season so far to take ninth. Ernesto Viso rounded out the top 10 for iSport, while local hero Jason Tahinchi was 24th quickest out of 26.
