Negrao Rues Unlucky Race
Xandi Negrao was disappointed to end up with no points after starting from pole in race two at Barcelona after a technical issues and a crash put paid to his chances of a good result
Negrao was thrilled to be starting from the front in the race, but just as he was due to lead the grid off on their warm up lap he struck a problem with his clutch which relegated to the back for the start.
"It was an electrical problem," he advised after the race. "I held the clutch but it didn't turn over and it just stalled with my hand on the clutch."
Despite the setback Negrao started to fight his way through the grid, initially doing so with ease: "The start was okay but I had a lot of traffic now in front of me, but I got two or three positions and was pushing.
"I was going well until I found [Cam] Artam, and I pushed him to the outside at turn one and went push push push around the lap to take him, but he came over a little when I made a small mistake and we hit - it was just a racing incident."
