Hamilton takes dominant home win
Lewis Hamilton racked up his fourth GP2 win in front of his home crowd at Silverstone in commanding fashion
In a race interrupted by three Safety Car periods, Hamilton was never seriously threatened, and he romped home to a dominant win. He even notched up the fastest lap of the race late on to grab an extra bonus point and increase his championship lead to 16 points.
Second went to new iSport driver Timo Glock, in his best race of the season. He got ahead of Adam Carroll during the mandatory pitstops, but couldn't put Hamilton under any real pressure.
Carroll held on for third, while Nelson Piquet Jr had a quiet run to fourth. Giorgio Pantano gave FMS their best result to date with fifth, picking up a place late on when he pressured Andy Zuber into a mistake.
Alex Premat picked up sixth despite a drive-through penalty and being caught up in a huge crash for Ferdinando Monfardini that caused one of the Safety Car periods.
Clivio Piccione continued DPR's recent good run in seventh, while the final point and pole for tomorrow's sprint went to Campos Racing's Felix Porteiro.
