Glock blames Negrao for collision

Timo Glock believes that Alexandre Negrao was at fault when the pair collided at the start of Saturday's GP2 race in Bahrain

The iSport driver had made his way up from seventh to third at the first corner, and he then took second from Negrao at turn two after the pair made contact.

"I hit Negrao because I was on the inside and he didn't leave me any room," said Glock, who finished second behind Luca Filippi. "I couldn't go any more to the left.

"We were side-by-side, and he was maybe two metres in front of me but I have to make the corner and he didn't give me any space.

"He has to remember that he is not out there on his own - there are 25 other cars on the track."

Negrao had started from the front row, but he had in fact jumped the start, and he later crashed out of the race at the final corner.

Glock admitted that the contact was severe, and he initially thought he would have to retire from the race.

"I thought that I couldn't finish the race because the steering was completely to the right and the suspension was a little bent," he said.

The German driver added that the damage prevented him for challenging for the victory, even if he did manage to drive around the problem enough to hold off Andreas Zuber for second.

"I would have had the pace for Filippi," he said. "We had a couple of laps after the pitstop where I tried to catch him up but I over-pushed the front tyres.

"After that I said I would save the tyre and think of the championship, and I think that made the most sense. I'm happy with P2, it's a good start."
